Cole Memorial Hospital’s maternity unit welcomed Potter County’s New Year’s baby on January 1, 2017 at 5:43 a.m. A baby boy, weighing five pounds, 1.2 ounces and 19 inches in length, was born to the proud parents Autumn Tankersley and Mark Schneider of Smethport, PA. Oaklin was delivered by Dr. Ahmad Awada, obstetrician and gynecologist, from the Cole Memorial Medical Group and Women’s Health Center at the Hospital.
Among the first gifts the baby received was a $25 gift certificate from the Looking Glass Gift Shop at Cole Memorial. Several local businesses also donated gifts to the family through The Potter Leader-Enterprise.
Approximately 200 babies are delivered annually at Cole Memorial. The maternity unit and the Women’s Health Center at Cole Memorial Hospital offer comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care and screenings. A total team of approximately twenty obstetricians, gynecologists, nurse practitioners, nurses and support staff provide experienced and expert women’s health care within the hospital’s 65-mile service area including north central Pennsylvania and New York’s southern tier.
