The successful candidate must be a high school graduate or equivalent and must be a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Office Technologist, a Certified Diagnostic Ophthalmic Sonographer, or a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant by JCAHPO. BLS certification required. Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, ocular anatomy, physiology and pathology required. Two years’ experience working in an Ophthalmology practice is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding, and Ophthalmology office procedures required.
This position is responsible to assist the Ophthalmologist in diagnoses and treatment of eye diseases and injuries, conduct a variety of preliminary eye examinations to include diagnostic A-Scans, document information in medical records, maintain supplies and equipment in exam rooms, perform related technical and clerical work, etc.
